Last weekend, Ray and Catherine got married in a beautiful, outdoor, ceremony at Frederik Meijer Gardens in Grand Rapids. This is one of my favorite places for weddings-especially outdoor ceremonies! Catherine and Ray had planned their entire wedding living out of state and it was a success if you ask me! I loved the theme-cook out food, s'mores, sunflowers, close friends and family (all fun-loving)! It was such a pleasure for Caitlin and I to capture your wedding day and enjoy the day with you! Caitlin-thank you SO much for helping me with this one. I had so much fun with you. Catherine and Ray-I wish you nothing but the best! Congratulations to you and may your future be filled with much happiness! :)
Catherine's necklace + her shoes + her dress = perfect match set!
Stunning.
Time for the first look at each other in the Conservatory! Ray is waiting anxiously (and looking at his watch! :)
It was such a hot, summer day. We were thankful to have a little shuttle car to drive us around the grounds!
And I thought I was excited. hehe.
Catherine's lovely ladies...
Ray's cool dudes...
Cheers!
A lot of goofing around today. I LOVE that about this group!
One of these things is not like the other...:)You guys will get this!
Cute purse!;)
More silly. I like it.
<3
More gorgeous Catherine...
There was a little time to kill before being transported out to the ceremony site (the waterfall), so we spent it cooling off and relaxing in the bridal room. Something, something, Peter Frampton....(you guys will get that). :)
Time to head out to the ceremony site now that the park is closed!
Longest receiving line I have ever seen. The award goes to...You guys!! Could not be a more beautiful setting for it though!
Off to the Victorian Room to sign the all important marriage license to make it official!
Introducing Mr. and Mrs. Lessnau!
S'mores? Yes, please.
Hotdogs and Hamburgers? Yes please. :)
Caitlin and I could hardly wait to roast and eat s'mores. (Ok, maybe it was more me, but oh well!) They were delicious. I can not even remember the last time I had one before that day! Because of this, I made sure I had at least two. And some extra chocolate pieces, and a few marshmallows, and some graham crackers...
This table had a bit of a fire issue. :) I think they liked it. Living on the wild side...
:)
This photo makes me smile.
Ray and his college roomies had this story about how they once bought some 80's style sweaters (you can all picture one, right?) and went to Sears photo studio for group photos wearing them. They told me all about these super cheesy, mouth open, big smiles and silly poses they did for it and ended up blowing one of them up and framing it over their couch, at their house. We attempted recreation on this night minus the sweaters, of course. :) Hilarious.
Heads cocked to the side and big smiles. They kept reminding each other, "Big, open mouth smiles guys, lots of teeth..." haha.
Classic. Sears eat your heart out. I hope these pics hold a candle to the one that hung over the couch! :)
Catherine and Ray-thank you again for sharing your day with Caitlin and I. We had so much fun with you both. CONGRATS!!
I love the at table s'mores!! That is such a cute idea, Congrats!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely one of my favorite weddings EVER! Of course Ray has been my "other son" for many years!
